Yes. Located roughly 50-55 miles by driving route from Safford to the East Trailhead, Aravaipa Canyon is a protected wilderness gorge featuring towering cliffs and a perennial creek. Because of its pristine natural beauty and diverse birdwatching opportunities, daily access is strictly limited. An advance permit and fee from the BLM are required to enter the canyon.
